Overview

Assetto Corsa Mobile is a revised mobile version of the popular Assetto Corsa game.

It’s a single player only experience where the player can upgrade and unlock new cars as they progress through the career.

I worked on:

  • Vehicle physics 
  • Difficulty tuning
  • Economy tuning
  • Progression tuning
  • Menu UX

Gameplay

The gameplay is the one of a normal racing game: choose the event, choose the car and race. The main gameplay mode is the Career mode where the player needs to reach certain targets to obtain a bronze, silver or gold trophy. Next events are unlocked when certain conditions are met: player level, previous events completed, a certain number of trophies obtained, etc.

Events can be entered only by specific types of cars (only race cars, only Italian cars, only the Mazda Miata, etc.).

Events can be of one of five different game modes:

  • Race: normal race with 10 cars. Trophies are based on the final position.
  • Time Attack: Lap the best time possible. Trophies are based on fixed time thresholds.
  • Speedcamera: Pass through gates at the highest possible speed. The trophies are based on the sum of the speed achieved at all gates.
  • Overtake: The player must overtake the highest number of cars in a certain time frame. The trophies are based on the number of overtakes.
  • Endurance: go as far as possible in a certain time frame. Passing through gates extends the time frame. The trophies are based on the distance driven by the player.
